Aintree Tennis Club’s Ace Family Fun Day

The Aintree Tennis Club held a fantastic Open Day last Saturday 14 September at the Woodlea outdoor courts.

The glorious sunny day saw over 200 people from Rockbank, Aintree and surrounding suburbs attend the event with their families and enjoy a fun and inclusive environment for all to participate.

A number of ace tennis activities were arranged including hotshots nets, ball machines and even radar guns to measure the velocity of hits and serves. The fun-filled day also featured music, face-painting, a sausage sizzle and savoury food snacks.

Celebrating all things tennis, visitors were treated to a meet and greet with the Aintree Tennis Club committee as well as the new head coach from In2Tennis, who ran interactive coaching sessions.

The Aintree Tennis Club is a family-oriented community club that is structured to meet the growing demands of sport in the local community.

The final vision for Woodlea will see the entire suburb filled with notable sporting facilities, including tennis and netball courts, AFL specific ovals, plus cricket and soccer fields, all benefitting from pavilions and seating, club rooms and additional facilities.

Aintree Tennis Club would like to thank the City of Melton, Tennis Victoria, Woodlea, Peg and Pencil Studios and Patiala House restaurant for all of their support and Sponsorship. The Club would also like to thank local residents for showing their support on the day and looks forward to beginning activation of the courts.
