Australia’s fastest growing community Woodlea has announced Coles Supermarket as the major anchor tenant in its upcoming Woodlea Town Centre.
Set to open late 2020, the 3,690-square-metre supermarket will include a Liquorland and will offer residents convenience right on their doorstep, with the closest supermarket currently a 30-minute round trip away in the neighbouring suburb of Caroline Springs.
Since launching in March 2015, Woodlea is now home to 3,000 residents and counting and will reach over 6,000 residents when the Woodlea Town Centre is expected to open its doors in late 2020.
Woodlea Project Director Matthew Dean said the announcement of the supermarket is a reflection of the rapid growth of the suburb.
“We want to ensure the delivery of local facilities matches the huge growth of the community. In just four years we’ve delivered a Cafe, Pharmacy and Medical Centre, the Bacchus Marsh Grammar Early Learning Centre, Primary School and a Sports Precinct as promised.
“The convenience of a central supermarket and destinational town centre will be the next jewel in the crown of this thoughtfully master-planned community,” said Mr Dean.
Woodlea Sales and Marketing Manager, Lora Djurdjevic said the market-style Coles was set to be located in the heart of the brand new town centre, and will feature the latest fit out comprising, an in-store bakery with fresh bread, Laurent varieties and a machine to make fresh flatbread daily as well as a continental delicatessen offering a large range of cheeses and seafood.
Shoppers will also be able to select, weigh and pack their own seeds, nuts and dried fruits at the ‘Scoop and Weigh’ bar.
To coincide with the Coles announcement, Woodlea is releasing a special collection of Parkfront Townhouses a short 200m walk to the supermarket and the future Woodlea Town Centre.
Woodlea residents and those from surrounding neighbourhoods will be able to make use of the 350 space carpark as well as the adjacent bus stop.

Go West Eatery & Tuckshop will close its doors on Sunday 25th August to pursue other opportunities in inner Melbourne. This has provided us the chance to welcome a not-for-profit social enterprise cafe that will be managed by local community organisation We Love Aintree. 100% of profits will go back into your local community, so every time you buy a coffee or make a purchase at the new cafe you’re supporting things like playgroup, the community garden and local sporting clubs. The social enterprise cafe will open on Saturday 31st August. In the meantime, a pop up coffee cart will look after your caffeine needs from Monday 26 to Friday 30th August.
