Official Opening of the Walk of Honour

At the 11th hour, on the 11th day, of the 11th month the community came together to commemorate Remembrance Day. This day was especially significant as it marked 100 years on from the end of World War 1, the "war to end all wars."

Over the past three years Woodlea has been building a memorial to mark this unique occasion and to acknowledge all those men and women affected by war and those still being affected today. This memorial, known as the Aintree Walk of Honour, is 500m in length and is lined with plaques and lemon scented Gum Trees to serve as a constant symbol of courage, sacrafice, service and mate-ship. To learn more about the Walk and those honoured throughout, visit the official website below.
