Woodlea Joggernauts training sessions for R4K

The countdown is on for Run for the Kids 2019 and with only 33 days to go, it’s time for the Woodlea Joggernauts to begin training!

As part of the Joggernauts team experience, Woodlea is hosting weekly community training sessions to help the team build on their fitness levels.

The sessions will run on Tuesday evenings from 6pm for 45 minutes and will be lead by our favourite personal trainer Olivia Scalzo from the local Liv PT.

Joggernauts only need to bring their water bottle, hat, sunscreen and towel to sessions. A small donation of $10 is asked of each attendee at their first training session, with this one-off fee contributing to the Woodlea Joggernaut’s overall donation towards the Good Friday Appeal.

Joggernauts can expect more than just running, with a warm up and cool down on top of sprinting drills, time challenges, strength training and much, much more.

Child-friendly sessions will also be incorporated throughout the training period. These sessions will be released throughout the training period with plenty of notice for all Joggernaut parents who would like to bring along the family.

Woodlea Short Course R4K ambassador Sharni Layton, AWFL player and former Australian Netballer, will be putting the Joggernauts through their paces for a special training session on Tuesday, March 12.

All members of the Woodlea community are invited to attend the session for the opportunity to meet and greet Sharni while cheering on the Woodlea Joggernauts as they train.

If you can’t attend the training session or simply want to track your training and progress, our favourite free apps to download include Map my Run, Nike Run, Runkeeper and for beginners, Couch to 5K.

Follow the Woodlea Facebook page for weekly updates on sessions and relevant information.
